Arsenal's Second Push for Bruno Guimaraes: A Major Transfer Saga
Arsenal are preparing to test Newcastle United’s resolve again over Bruno Guimaraes, with a new bid expected for the Brazilian midfielder, according to Ben Jacobs.

Guimaraes, by all accounts, has communicated his desire to join Arsenal. That changes the temperature of any negotiation. When a captain starts looking towards another dressing room, the conversation inevitably shifts from “not for sale” to “what’s the number?”
Arsenal, for their part, are not walking into this blind. They have a clear valuation of Guimaraes and are refusing to be dragged into an open-ended auction. The club will only push ahead if Newcastle are willing to sit down, talk seriously, and find a compromise that works for both sides.
If that door stays shut, they are ready to walk away.
Alex Scott of Bournemouth is one of the alternatives on their list, a younger, developing option who has already caught the eye in the Premier League. Sporting director Andrea Berta is also tracking several other midfielders, keeping Arsenal’s options broad while the Guimaraes saga plays out.
Arsenal have already moved to strengthen at the back, bringing in French goalkeeper Illan Meslier to deepen competition and add another layer of security behind an already robust defence. The next phase of their squad build is about the heart of the pitch: control, aggression, and quality in midfield.
