Besiktas Final Offer for Salah as Transfer Decision Looms

Besiktas have played their hand. Now they wait on Mohamed Salah.

Club president Serdal Adali has confirmed that the Istanbul side have made what he describes as a final, official proposal to the former Liverpool forward, placing the outcome of one of the window’s most intriguing pursuits squarely in the Egyptian’s court.

“For some time we have been conducting negotiations with Salah and his representatives regarding the details of the deal,” Adali told Turkish outlet Ortacizgi, outlining a process that has stretched across the summer and moved well beyond initial contact.

The talks have gone deep. Numbers, clauses, conditions – all picked apart.

“In the final stage, we discussed the demands of the player and his representatives from all angles,” he said. “After mutual negotiations, we submitted our final official offer. We also asked them to inform us of their decision within a short period.”

Adali stressed that the club’s wider transfer work “continues at full force,” but made it clear that, on Salah, the ball will not be moved any further from their side. “This is the current situation regarding Salah,” he explained. “We have assessed the amendments requested since the start of the negotiations, in line with the club’s interests, and we have submitted our final offer. Now the decision lies with the player.”

The message is unmistakable: Besiktas have gone as far as they are prepared to go.

Reports around Europe suggest the offer on the table is a substantial one. Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, regarded as a reliable voice on transfers, claims Besiktas have already reached an agreement on personal terms with Salah and his agent. The proposal is said to be a one-year contract, worth up to €12 million.

For a club intent on reasserting itself at the top of Turkish football, landing a global star of Salah’s profile would be a statement that reverberates far beyond the Süper Lig. For Salah, it would mark a dramatic new chapter after his glittering spell at Liverpool.
