Copa del Rave: Charity Soccer Tournament Takes Center Stage in 2026

Copa del Rave, the DJ-driven charity soccer tournament that’s become a cult fixture in Los Angeles since 2019, is stepping onto a far bigger stage in 2026.

With the FIFA World Cup kicking off in June across the United States, Mexico and Canada, the tournament is turning its hometown into a rolling football-and-club-culture carnival. While the world’s best teams fight it out in 16 host cities, Copa del Rave will run a World Cup residency inside two of L.A.’s most recognizable nightspots: Academy and Exchange L.A., transforming them into all-day, all-night viewing and party hubs.

This isn’t just a few screens and a bar special. Each event is built around the nations on that day’s fixture list, with DJs, labels and party crews drafted in to mirror the matchups on the pitch. Claude VonStroke will fly the flag for Team USA. Mexico’s colors will be carried by Reggaeton Rave, Gasolina and Bolo’s Vibraza Records. Blaq Pages and Afrobeats To The World will channel the energy of the African diaspora.

The idea is simple: the dancefloor never really stops. Doors open for pre-match build-up, soundtracked by sets tailored to the countries involved, then the crowd locks into the game, and when the final whistle goes, the party surges back to full volume.

Entry to the residency events is free with RSVP, a deliberate play to keep the rooms packed and accessible, while VIP tables are on offer for those who want a more premium perch amid the chaos.

Behind the scenes, Copa del Rave continues to lean into its charitable core. Since its launch five years ago, the tournament has raised more than $75,000 for a range of causes. This year, proceeds will go to Common Goal, the football-focused organization working to open up access to the sport for kids who might otherwise be priced or pushed out of the game.

For co-founders Alastair Duncan and Jonathan McDonald, the World Cup window in Los Angeles offers a rare alignment: global football, global dance music, DJ culture and a social mission all pulling in the same direction, in the same city, at the same time. The residency, built with Academy’s venue team and a deep roster of DJs and partners, is their biggest swing yet.

While Copa del Rave builds its own soundtrack in L.A., the World Cup itself is being tuned to a different frequency. Organizers have already confirmed that Madonna, Shakira and BTS will headline a FIFA World Cup halftime show at MetLife Stadium on July 19 — the first time the tournament has ever staged a Super Bowl-style spectacle in the middle of a match.

The world’s biggest sporting event is about to sound like a festival. In Los Angeles, Copa del Rave intends to make sure the volume never drops.
