Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed his marriage to longtime partner Georgina Rodríguez. The Portuguese football icon married the model in a private civil ceremony held in Cascais, Portugal, on Tuesday. This date marked exactly one year since they announced their engagement on Instagram in 2025.
A representative for the Al Nassr star shared that the intimate event was attended only by the couple’s five children. Following the ceremony, Ronaldo posted a photo on Instagram showing their joined hands with wedding bands, captioned simply: "C❤️G." The wedding came just days after rumors circulated about a possible ceremony at Funchal Cathedral, Ronaldo’s hometown, which drew thousands of fans outside the church.
The Beginning of Their Story
The pair first crossed paths in 2016 when Rodríguez, an Argentine-Spanish model, was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. In her Netflix documentary Soy Georgina (I am Georgina), she explained how their meeting happened unexpectedly. She was scheduled to finish work early but was asked to assist a VIP client—Ronaldo, who was then playing for Real Madrid.
I was finally able to leave the shop three hours later than planned, and as I was getting ready to leave, Cristiano came in with his eldest son and some friends. Let’s just say it was butterflies in my stomach.
After that day, the two rarely separated. Ronaldo often picked Rodríguez up from work in his Bugatti after she arrived by bus, leaving coworkers amazed by the contrast. Eventually, she quit her job due to the crowds gathering around her.

Rodríguez stepped into a parental role for Ronaldo’s three older children: Cristiano Jr, Eva Maria, and Mateo. Together, the couple now shares two daughters, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.

In the documentary, Ronaldo revealed he had hesitated to propose until he felt the perfect moment, or “click.”
