Eli Junior Kroupi Shortlisted for Men's Young Talent of the Year
Eli Junior Kroupi’s breakout year has been given global recognition, with the Bournemouth forward shortlisted for the Men's Young Talent of the Year award ahead of the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony.
The 20-year-old, who only made his Cherries debut in August 2025, is one of three Premier League names on a 10-player list. He is joined by Manchester City’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and Aston Villa’s Johan Manzambi, underlining the league’s growing pool of emerging stars.
Kroupi did more than just settle in last season. He attacked it. Across all competitions, he made 35 appearances and scored 13 goals, quickly becoming one of Bournemouth’s most dangerous weapons in the final third.
His impact in the Premier League was even more striking. By the end of the 2025-26 campaign, he had scored more goals than any other teenager in their debut season in the competition – a marker that pushed him from promising prospect into genuine headline act.
Right now, though, his rise is on pause. A foot injury suffered in pre-season led to surgery, and he has yet to feature this term. Bournemouth expect him back in October or November, a timeline that turns his recovery into one of the club’s most closely watched stories of the autumn.
The Men's Young Talent of the Year prize will be one of the honours handed out at the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony in London on Monday, 26 October — a stage fitting for a young forward whose next step could define Bournemouth’s future as much as his own.
