Endrick Faces Tough Competition at Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s new attacking order is taking shape, and it leaves one big name on the outside looking in.
Over the last week, the club have closed deals for striker Carlos Espi from Levante and winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, signings that round off Jose Mourinho’s forward line for the 2026-27 season. Two fresh attacking weapons, two positions covered, and one clear consequence: Endrick has slipped down the pecking order.
Endrick squeezed out
For the Brazilian, the timing could hardly be harsher. From January to May, he boosted his reputation on loan at Lyon, turning that spell into a showcase of his potential and staking a claim for a real role back in Madrid. Instead, he returns to find Espi occupying the central attacking berth and Diomande taking up space in wide areas he could have called his own.
The message is blunt. Minutes will be scarce.
Inside the club, there is an acceptance of that reality. Mourinho’s first season back is expected to be built on experience and ready-made options, and Real Madrid see the risk: keep Endrick as a fringe option and his development stalls, or move him and let him play. The second path is now firmly on the table.
Loan market heats up
A new loan is being prepared. Real Sociedad have already shown interest, sensing an opportunity to bring in a high-upside forward for the season. The Basque club could offer him continuity in Spain, a familiar league and a clear role in an ambitious side.
England, though, is also calling. Journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon reports that Real Madrid are working on a deal that would send Endrick to the Premier League on a temporary basis. The destination is not yet sealed, but the direction of travel is clear: the club are willing to sanction his exit for the season if the project is right.
Real Madrid are not pushing him out permanently. They are simply accepting that, with Espi and Diomande now in place, Endrick will not feature much under Mourinho this year. For a player at his stage, that is a luxury he cannot afford.
Fulham in the frame
There will be no shortage of suitors for a forward of his profile. If Fulham enter the race, they could quickly move towards the front of the queue thanks to the Alvaro Arbeloa connection, a link that could help smooth talks and build trust around the move.
The London club, though, have already been busy. They have just brought in Gonzalo Garcia and midfielder Cesar Palacios, which raises a footballing question: do they truly need another attacker, or would Endrick risk walking into a similar logjam to the one he is trying to escape in Madrid?
That calculation will matter. This loan cannot simply be about a new league or a big name badge; it has to guarantee him the one thing Madrid cannot right now: regular, meaningful minutes.
Decision time approaches
As the final weeks of the transfer window tick by, the outlook is sharpening. A departure for Endrick is moving from possibility to probability. The club see it, the player’s camp see it, and any club tracking young attacking talent can see the opening too.
The next move will not just define his season. It could shape the next phase of his career. Will he fight for scraps at the Bernabéu, or take the gamble and become a starter elsewhere in Spain or in the Premier League?
