Real Madrid's Endrick Downplays Football Pressure, Highlights Challenges Faced by Ordinary Workers
Real Madrid forward Endrick has openly dismissed the notion that professional football carries unbearable pressure. The Brazilian international emphasized how the privileged lifestyle of footballers contrasts sharply with the hardships faced by regular workers.
Brazilian Forward’s Perspective on Football Demands
While on duty with the Selecao, the former Palmeiras star spoke honestly about the intensity of elite football. He acknowledged tense moments during matches but argued that the challenges in football cannot be equated with the exhausting routines of everyday laborers. According to him, the substantial salaries earned by top players transform their families’ lives in ways ordinary workers rarely experience.
Gratitude Over Complaints
In an interview with Brazilian broadcaster TV Globo, Endrick stressed the need for footballers to appreciate the opportunities their careers provide. He said, "We [footballers] face enormous pressure, but we have to be grateful for what football provides us. Of course there are high-pressure moments, but football gives us wonderful things that can change our families' lives."
He further dismissed claims that playing football is difficult by saying, "It isn’t hard being a footballer. Yes, certain things that happen are difficult, but we cannot claim that being a player is hard. What’s hard is being someone who wakes up at 5am to go to work, labouring Monday to Sunday."
A Mature View on Privilege and Hard Work
The young striker’s comments reveal a maturity beyond his years as he puts the pressures of football into perspective. Reminding his peers to value their fortunes rather than succumb to stress, Endrick concluded, "We are inside football, doing what we love most and earning money that can change our family’s life. We just have to thank God for this moment."
Upcoming Matches and Playing Time
Endrick started in Brazil’s 1-1 draw against Australia in Townsville but may be rested for the next friendly against India in Brisbane. Coach Carlo Ancelotti plans to rotate his squad during this international break. Afterward, the teenager will return to Spain aiming for more minutes at Real Madrid, having only logged four minutes so far this season.
