Ferran Torres Nears Barcelona Exit for PSG Transfer
Ferran Torres is moving closer to the Camp Nou exit – and Paris is waiting with the door open.
According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Deutschland, the 26-year-old has reached a personal agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over a transfer, with the French champions now in direct talks with Barcelona. This is not a deal born overnight; Plettenberg notes it has been the plan “for several days already,” and the pieces are starting to fall into place.
The mood in Barcelona helps. Last week, transfer specialist Matteo Moretto reported that Torres was open to a switch to PSG. Crucially, Barça are not fighting to keep him. There is no sense of a club digging in over a player they see as indispensable, which instantly lowers the barriers for a move of this scale.
PSG have been circling for some time. Negotiations over a new Barcelona contract for Torres – currently running until mid-2027 – have reportedly “completely stalled”, inviting outside interest. By mid-July, Sky Italia were already reporting that the French club were keen to do business with Barça, and that interest has now hardened into concrete movement.
Barcelona’s stance is clear: this is a chance to cash in. Torres’ stock has rarely been higher. His extra-time winner for Spain against Argentina sealed a 1–0 victory and a world title, a moment that instantly reshaped his status on the market. Even with only one year left on his deal, that decisive strike has given Barça leverage they cannot afford to ignore.
For PSG, the timing is perfect. Their attack is being rebuilt on the fly. Gonçalo Ramos has gone to AC Milan, Lee Kang-in has joined Atlético Madrid, and Bradley Barcola looks almost certain to follow them out of the Parc des Princes. Questions also remain over Ibrahim Mbaye’s role. The forward line that finished last season will not be the one that starts the next.
So they are moving aggressively. Torres is one piece of the puzzle; Mika Godts is another. The Ajax left winger has also reached a personal agreement with PSG and is open to the move. As with Barcelona, the Paris hierarchy must now find an accord with Ajax to close that deal.
