Jamal Musiala's Health Concerns Before German Super Cup
Jamal Musiala has given Bayern Munich another scare just days before the German Super Cup, after feeling unwell for the second time in four days during a pre-season friendly.
The 21-year-old midfielder was introduced on the hour mark of Bayern’s 4-2 win over Heidenheim on Tuesday. Within four minutes, he was on the turf, surrounded by anxious team-mates and opponents as medics rushed on.
Players from both sides formed a protective circle while Musiala received treatment. The scene was tense, but after a few worrying moments he was able to get back to his feet and walk off the pitch without assistance.
It was an unsettling repeat of what had happened on Saturday.
Late in the friendly against RB Leipzig, Musiala had also reported feeling unwell shortly after coming on. He sat down on the grass and needed help from several emergency responders, with clear concern on the faces around him – including team-mate Ismael Saibari.
That time too, the initial alarm gave way to relief as Musiala eventually left the field under his own power.
“He is doing well now. And that is the most important thing. Beyond that, we cannot say too much about it yet,” he told Sport1.
Musiala has not yet spoken publicly about either incident, and Bayern have offered no further explanation for the repeated problems.
The timing is awkward. Bayern meet Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in the German Super Cup, a showpiece that usually sets the tone for the season. All eyes will now be on whether one of their most gifted players is ready – and whether these two worrying interruptions are just a blip, or the start of a bigger issue Bayern cannot afford to ignore.
