Jamal Musiala's Return: Bayern's Cautious Optimism Under Kompany

Cautious optimism surrounds Jamal Musiala’s return as Bayern step back to full strength under Vincent Kompany.

According to Bild, Musiala, now 23, recently had his medication dosage increased after suffering two collapses in friendly matches, incidents linked to brief neurological disturbances and short losses of consciousness. The club has reacted by placing his health firmly above any short-term sporting gain.

The coaching staff are in no mood to gamble. Internally, the message is clear: there will be no rush. Musiala’s comeback will be managed step by step, even as the temptation grows to throw him straight back into competitive action.

On Monday afternoon, though, came a significant step forward. Musiala completed the full team training session, taking part in all drills and physical duels. Observers described the Germany international as looking in strong physical condition and very much on track in his recovery. The session was split between a pitch with a protective screen and an adjacent open pitch, and Musiala stayed involved throughout.

The positive news did not stop there. With Serge Gnabry also back, Kompany finally has his entire squad available on the training ground. Bild reported that there are no longer any injured players or individuals working separately on tailored programmes.

For a new coach trying to stamp his identity on a heavyweight dressing room, this is the ideal platform: a full squad, a fit Musiala edging back, and no excuses left between the training pitch and the season ahead.
