Adeyemi, who completed his move from Borussia Dortmund to Barça last week, has still not been presented to the supporters. The delay has nothing to do with paperwork or last‑minute drama, but with the small matter of a World Cup final.

Spain’s 1-0 extra-time win over Argentina on Sunday drew the game’s biggest figures to the stadium, among them Barça president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco. Both travelled to attend the final and are not expected back in Barcelona until Tuesday, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Their absence has pushed back the traditional unveiling. The club plans to present Adeyemi to the media and fans on Wednesday, 22 July, at the Catalan side’s stadium, restoring the usual spectacle to a transfer that, for now, has unfolded mostly behind closed doors.

It was not supposed to be like this. The original idea was to wrap up the deal before the weekend so that the 24-year-old could immediately report for training under new coach Hansi Flick, integrating into the squad as quickly as possible.

Instead, Adeyemi waits for his first touch on the Camp Nou grass, and Barça’s fans wait for their first live look at a winger signed to inject fresh speed and edge into Flick’s attack. The cameras will be ready on Wednesday. So will the questions about how quickly he can turn ceremony into impact.
