Liverpool Pursues PSG Winger Bradley Barcola

Liverpool are preparing an opening offer for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as they step up plans to reshape their attack after Mohamed Salah’s departure, according to reports in The Athletic.

At 23, Barcola has been pushed to the top of Liverpool’s shortlist. Inside Anfield, he is viewed as the priority signing for this window, the player they want to build the next phase of their forward line around. The message from his camp is clear: he wants the move.

The problem lies in Paris.

PSG are said to be demanding close to €170m to even consider letting him go. That figure has landed in Liverpool’s inbox with a thud. The club’s hierarchy are understood to have little interest in reaching that number and are instead working towards a deal closer to €120m.

That gap sets up a tense negotiation. Liverpool believe they have a lever: Barcola’s contract situation. He is tied to PSG until 2028 but is reportedly reluctant to extend, a stance the Premier League side hope to exploit while his value and ambition are both peaking.

On the pitch, his case is strong. Barcola comes off a 2025-26 campaign in which he made 49 appearances for Les Rouge et Bleu, scoring 13 goals and supplying seven assists. Those numbers, in a squad packed with attacking talent, underline why Liverpool see him as a potential leading man rather than a rotation option.

For PSG, those same statistics justify their price. For Liverpool, they justify the pursuit.

Barcola, though, appears to be looking beyond the Parc des Princes. After establishing himself in Paris, he is now intent on taking what he views as the next step: a starring role at a top European club, not just a supporting part in a superclub ensemble.

Liverpool, searching for a new face to define their front line after Salah, are ready to test PSG’s resolve. The opening bid will tell them how serious the French champions are about that €170m stance – and how far the Reds are willing to go to land their man.
