Liverpool Signs Natalia Ramos to Boost Midfield

Liverpool have added experience, goals and a touch of Spanish steel to their midfield with the signing of Natalia Ramos from CD Tenerife Femenino, subject to visa approval and international clearance.

The 27-year-old arrives after establishing herself as one of Tenerife’s pillars, clocking up more than 200 appearances for the Liga F side. Last season alone she featured 30 times in Spain’s top flight, chipping in with 10 goals and five assists – serious end product from midfield and the sort of profile that immediately catches the eye in the modern game.

Ramos' Sentiments

For Ramos, the move is not just a change of club. It is a leap into a new footballing culture, and she made no attempt to hide what it means to her.

"I'm really, really happy," she said. "I'm very excited to achieve this new step in my life and I'm very grateful for this new opportunity.

"For me it was a very easy decision and I'm very, very happy, with a lot of feelings and emotions because I know who the club is, the respect [it has].

"I feel very happy and privileged to take this shirt and sign at the club."

Those are not the words of a player unsure of her surroundings. They are the words of someone who understands the weight of the shirt she is about to pull on.

International Experience

Ramos arrives with pedigree at international youth level too. She represented Spain at Under-17 and Under-19, and played her part in the squad that lifted the 2017 Women's European Under-19 Championship in Northern Ireland. That tournament hardened a generation of Spanish talent; Ramos now brings that winning education to Merseyside.

Summer Rebuild

Her signing continues an assertive summer rebuild at Liverpool. She becomes the sixth new face through the door, following Mao Itamura, Vivien Endemann, Sara Agrez, Mari Ward and Khiara Keating. Each addition has carried its own storyline; Ramos brings the blend of experience, creativity and leadership that tends to knit a squad together.

Liverpool wanted a midfielder who knows how to manage games, contribute in the final third and handle pressure. Ramos has been doing that for years in Liga F.
