Locatelli Faces Knee Tests After Juve–Milan Draw

Manuel Locatelli will undergo medical tests on a knee problem after playing through discomfort in Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Milan at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday night.

The Juventus captain reported pain in his knee towards the closing stages of the Serie A clash but stayed on the pitch and completed the full 90 minutes. Reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and other outlets state that the midfielder flagged the issue to the club’s staff after the final whistle.

On Monday afternoon, Locatelli was expected at JMedical, where he will undergo instrumental tests in the coming hours to determine the extent of the problem.

The timing could hardly be worse for Juventus. Their midfield is already stretched, with Khephren Thuram recovering from knee surgery and not due back until early 2027. Losing Locatelli for any significant spell would strip the side of its on-field leader and main reference point in the middle of the pitch.

An absence for the 26-year-old would also reshape Luciano Spalletti’s options in central midfield. The coach would have to lean heavily on Weston McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners and summer signing Pape Matar Sarr to carry the load.

For now, everything hinges on those tests at JMedical and what they reveal about the knee of Juventus’ captain.
