Manchester United have drawn a thick red line through any notion of selling Bruno Fernandes this summer. Not for the right price. Not for Galatasaray. Not at all.

The 31-year-old finished last season as the creative heartbeat of Michael Carrick’s resurgent side, dragging United back into the Champions League with the kind of output that underpins a team, not just decorates it. The name at the top of that creative wishlist is Bruno Fernandes. The reported asking price: €50 million. The salary expectation: a staggering €20 million net per year.

Those are serious figures. But they barely move the dial in Manchester.

According to TEAMtalk, United have “no plans whatsoever” to cash in on Fernandes in this window. The stance is not just institutional; it is shared by the player. There is no agitation behind the scenes, no push for a move, no search for one last big contract elsewhere. The Portuguese international is described as keen to open talks over a new deal that would stretch beyond his current contract, which runs until 2027 with an option for a further year.

United’s hierarchy view him as a long-term pillar in the dressing room, not just a luxury creator on the pitch. His influence, they believe, has only grown over the last two seasons, both in performance and personality. He sets standards, he drives games, he leads.

Privately, club sources stress that it would take a “mammoth” offer to even make them pause. The chances of him leaving this summer are said to be “very, very slim”. Anything short of a record-breaking valuation is not even up for discussion.

Carrick’s opinion only hardens that stance. The United manager has made clear his delight at working with Fernandes and sees him as central to everything that comes next: the Champions League return, the attempt to re-establish United as genuine Premier League contenders, the rebuilding of a side that has too often lurched from one idea to another.
