According to The Mirror, the forward has been invited to feature prominently in Amazon’s behind-the-scenes documentary tracking United’s 2026-27 season. On the face of it, it is a simple production decision. In reality, it drags one of the club’s most delicate sagas back into the spotlight.
From likely exit to centre of the storyline
Rashford is back at Old Trafford after Barcelona chose not to make his loan move permanent. That alone was a setback for a player who once looked like the face of United’s future. A summer departure still looked the logical next step, with the club open to a sale and the player’s situation clearly unresolved.
The problem? No one has yet been willing to meet both United’s valuation and Rashford’s wages. The market has stalled. The clean break many expected has not arrived.
Into that stalemate steps Amazon’s season-long documentary. The report states Rashford has been asked to play a role in the production, a decision that has inevitably fuelled talk that he may still have a path back under Michael Carrick.
