Kylian Mbappe Equalizes Raul’s Champions League Goal Record in Real Madrid's Win Over Inter

Kylian Mbappe netted his 71st Champions League goal, helping Real Madrid secure a 2-1 victory against Inter at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Madrid Claim Important European Win

Mbappe climbed the all-time Champions League scoring chart as he opened the scoring with a precise finish inside the box in the 14th minute. Just nine minutes later, Real Madrid extended their lead due to a defensive error from Inter. The Nerazzurri goalkeeper Josep Martinez lost control after a back pass from Benjamin Pavard, allowing Federico Valverde to easily tap the ball in.

Inter pushed hard to respond but fell short despite a late strike by Carlos Augusto in the 77th minute, setting up an intense finale that Los Blancos managed to hold onto.

While the forwards grabbed attention, Thibaut Courtois celebrated his 100th Champions League appearance with key saves. He stopped early attempts from Hakan Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez as Inter began strongly.

The match featured numerous chances at both ends. Martinez redeemed himself with a double save denying Mbappe and Jude Bellingham before halftime, and the post also prevented Inter from scoring. Later, former Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones rattled the crossbar, while Bellingham missed a clear chance to make it 3-0 before Augusto’s late goal brought tension to the game.
