Peter Handscomb Discusses the Precision of Indian Bowlers and the Challenges in India

Peter Handscomb is leading the Australia A team during their current tour in India. The experienced batsman shared his thoughts on the challenges posed by Indian bowlers, highlighting their remarkable accuracy and consistency. Despite a tough start in the first unofficial Test against India A in Puducherry, Handscomb remains focused on finding ways to score runs.

Adapting to India's Bowling Attack

Handscomb mentioned that attacking is necessary when scoring chances arise, but the Indian bowlers rarely offer poor deliveries to exploit. He explained, "You have to attack when you get the opportunity to score, but it is tough. The Indian bowlers are incredibly accurate, consistent and don’t give a lot of bad balls. You have to try and find a way to score off good balls. It can be tough when the ball misbehaves, but that’s the challenge of playing in India."

Experience Against Top Indian Players

More than half of Handscomb’s 11 Test matches have been against India, giving him plenty of exposure to some of the world’s finest cricketers. He recognizes the difficulty but also appreciates the opportunity, saying, "It’s tough to keep coming up against India, but it’s also such an amazing thing to do. There are some of the best players in the world here and I’m lucky enough to have played against some of them."
