Peter Shalulile Joins Young Africans for New Challenge

Peter Shalulile has chosen a familiar face and a new frontier.

The Namibia international, fresh from ending a glitter-stacked six-year spell with Mamelodi Sundowns, walked into free agency with half a continent on alert. At 32, with his scoring record and medal haul, he was never going to be short of suitors.

Interest came from across Africa and the Middle East. A reunion with Rhulani Mokwena at Pyramids FC quickly emerged as the expected move, the neat next chapter in a story already rich with domestic dominance.

Then Shalulile turned the page in a different direction.

He has opted instead to link up with Manqoba Mngqithi at Tanzanian giants Young Africans, choosing the coach who helped sharpen his instincts during some of Sundowns’ most successful years. The pair know each other’s rhythms from their time together at Chloorkop, where Shalulile evolved into one of the most reliable forwards on the continent.

Now that understanding shifts to Dar es Salaam, where Young Africans are pushing to cement their status among Africa’s elite. For Shalulile, it is a fresh league, a new crowd, but a trusted voice on the touchline.
