PSG Dominates Slovan Bratislava as Liverpool Overcome Atletico in Champions League Openers

PSG's Powerful Start to Champions League Campaign

Paris Saint-Germain began their quest for a third straight Champions League title with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday. The star of the night was Ferran Torres, who netted a hat-trick at the Parc des Princes.

Despite a slow domestic start, Torres emphasized the team's focus on Ligue 1 but wasted no time dismantling Slovan's defense alongside Ousmane Dembele, who scored twice early on. Torres opened his account just after 30 minutes and quickly added a second goal after halftime. He completed his treble with a deflected knee shot in the 57th minute.

Suleiman Camara scored a consolation goal for Slovan, while Fabian Ruiz sealed the win for PSG by capitalizing on a defensive error late in the match.

Liverpool Rally Past Atletico Madrid

Liverpool claimed back-to-back wins after their recent Premier League success, coming from behind to defeat Atletico Madrid 2-1 at Anfield.

Atletico took an early lead through Marcos Llorente, who scored after a precise pass from Julian Alvarez. Llorente has now scored five times in three appearances at Anfield, including crucial goals last season.

Dominik Szoboszlai leveled for Liverpool shortly before halftime, assisted cleverly by Ronald Araujo’s backheel. Then Alexis Mac Allister struck early in the second half with a powerful left-footed shot to put Liverpool ahead, a lead they maintained despite Atletico’s efforts.
