Real Madrid Injury Updates Ahead of Malaga Clash
Real Madrid’s final tune‑up before Malaga comes to town was missing a sizeable cast list.
On Saturday at Valdebebas, several first‑teamers skipped group work as Carlo Ancelotti’s side prepared for Sunday’s third round La Liga clash at the Santiago Bernabeu. Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, Raul Asencio, Aurelien Tchouameni, Thiago Pitarch, Rodrygo and Endrick were all absent from the main session.
The list is long, but not inactive.
All seven continued their recovery programmes away from the core group. Militao and Endrick stepped onto a neighbouring pitch, first pushed through physical drills, then moved into ball work as the club look to sharpen them up without risking a setback.
Tchouameni’s Situation
Tchouameni’s situation has drawn particular attention. Spanish radio journalist Arancha Rodriguez, speaking on “Cope”, underlined the club’s stance on the midfielder’s delayed return: “Mourinho explained it well a few days ago. Tchouameni wants to play now, but the technical staff prefer his full recovery. I would also like to remind that he renewed his contract at the beginning of the summer.”
The message is clear: no shortcuts, even with a player impatient to rejoin a winning side.
And it is a winning side. Madrid head into the Malaga game with maximum points from their opening two league fixtures, having edged Espanyol 2-1 before dismantling Real Sociedad 4-1.
Momentum is theirs. The question is how long they can keep it rolling while key names watch from the sidelines.
