Real Madrid’s Position on Endrick Amid Aston Villa Interest

After a successful loan period at Lyon last season, Endrick has started the new campaign with Real Madrid. Despite this, his future at the club remains uncertain due to stiff competition in attack, sparking transfer links with clubs like Aston Villa, Roma, and Real Sociedad.

Playing Time and Position Questions

Reports from AS indicate that Jose Mourinho is leaving the decision about another loan spell up to Endrick himself. Meanwhile, according to Trivela, Real Madrid have no plans to sell him.

In pre-season, Endrick featured prominently, starting against Fiorentina in early August, playing 75 minutes and scoring in a 2-2 draw. He also appeared for 64 minutes in the victory over Ferencvaros. In both games, he played as centre-forward in Mourinho’s 4-2-3-1 formation, but uncertainty surrounds whether he'll continue as a striker or shift to the right wing, a role he filled at Lyon. Either way, competition is intense.

Competition for Places

Kylian Mbappe is likely to remain the lead striker, while new signing Yan Diomande, bought for over €85 million, could start on the right. Other contenders include Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, Denzel Dumfries, and Bernardo Silva, all capable of occupying that position.

Interest from Other Clubs

Several clubs have expressed interest in Endrick. Roma reportedly enquired about a loan, and Aston Villa, managed by Unai Emery, have put forward a proposal to loan him as they look to boost their attack ahead of their Champions League return. Real Sociedad, who had shown interest before his move to Lyon, remain in the mix. Additionally, some Premier League teams have been linked with the Brazilian star.

Real Madrid’s Intentions

Trivela reports that selling Endrick is not on Real Madrid's agenda this window. The plan set since December last year, when he was not getting game time under Xabi Alonso, was to loan him out in January for experience and then bring him back, with no option for permanent transfer or extended loan.

That said, football is unpredictable. Injuries or irresistible offers could shift both the club’s and Endrick’s plans. Currently, neither party is pushing for a move.

Endrick’s Own Ambition

Before his loan to Lyon, Endrick wanted to remain at Real Madrid. His departure was more about gaining minutes than abandoning the club. Although he inherited the number nine shirt after Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival, he only managed 11 minutes in La Liga before being loaned.

His stint at Lyon was productive: 12 goals in 16 league matches, plus four goals in five cup and European appearances. This performance restored his value and solidified his wish to stay at the Spanish giants.

Now, it's up to Jose Mourinho to manage the 20-year-old’s playing time during this season.
