Barcelona have moved a step closer to pulling off one of the most audacious deals of the summer: prising Rodri away from Manchester City.
According to reports in Spain, first from Jijantes and reinforced by Mundo Deportivo, the Spain midfielder has told Barça he is fully convinced by Hansi Flick’s sporting project and is ready to explore a move. For a club that has spent much of the window counting every euro, this is the kind of green light that changes the entire market landscape.
Crucially, Rodri has also given Barcelona permission to open formal talks with City over a transfer.
