Romelu Lukaku Set for Transfer to Fenerbahce
Romelu Lukaku is on the brink of a new chapter in Turkey, with Napoli and Fenerbahce reaching full agreement over his transfer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The deal is straightforward and striking. Fenerbahce will pay an initial €6 million, with performance-related bonuses bolted on, for the 33-year-old Belgian striker. Lukaku has already shaken hands on personal terms with the Istanbul club and is set to earn around €10 million per season on a lucrative contract that underlines his status as a marquee arrival for the Turkish giants.
This move has not dragged. Negotiations between Napoli and Fenerbahce accelerated quickly, and by Tuesday Di Marzio confirmed that a formal agreement was in place. Once the two clubs aligned on the fee and structure, the rest followed at speed.
Crucially, Lukaku has already completed and passed his medical with Fenerbahce, clearing the most significant hurdle before any major transfer. The clubs are now exchanging and finalising the formal paperwork required to rubber-stamp the deal. With the medical done and the agreement settled, only the administrative details stand between Lukaku and his unveiling in yellow and navy.
His departure closes a two-season spell in Naples, where he pulled on the Azzurri shirt and left with something tangible: a Scudetto. Those two years in Serie A brought domestic glory, with the experienced forward playing his part in delivering the league title and adding another major honour to his career.
Now comes Istanbul. A new city, a new league, and a club with big ambitions. Fenerbahce, deep into their preparations for the new season, are about to add a proven, battle-hardened centre-forward to their dressing room.
An official announcement is expected in the coming hours. Once the final signatures are in place, Lukaku will join his new team-mates and step into a Turkish football landscape that will expect him not just to arrive, but to dominate.
