Szoboszlai Signs Long-Term Deal with Liverpool
Dominik Szoboszlai has tied his future to Liverpool, signing a new long-term contract that is expected to keep him at Anfield until the end of the 2030/31 season.
The club’s number eight, already a central figure in the Reds’ midfield, has agreed what is reported to be a five-year extension, a deal that underlines both his importance to the team and Liverpool’s faith in him as a pillar of their next era.
“It’s maybe my biggest day,” the 25-year-old said after putting pen to paper. He placed it alongside the moment he first joined Liverpool and the birth of his child, calling this new agreement one of the top three days of his life in football. He spoke of being “very happy” and eager to “go again and again and again,” stressing once more how content he is on Merseyside.
The Hungarian international arrived from RB Leipzig three years ago and has grown into one of Liverpool’s most influential players. His blend of energy, creativity and end product has turned him into a mainstay, not just a stylish accessory to the side.
That influence only sharpened during a difficult 2025/26 campaign for the club. While Liverpool faltered collectively, Szoboszlai’s season surged: 13 goals, 12 assists, 53 appearances across all competitions. When the dust settled on a disappointing year, he stood out clearly enough to be named the club’s Men’s Player of the Year.
The new contract is Liverpool’s statement that those numbers are not a peak, but a platform.
