Tegan Bowie Joins Parma Calcio: From Hibs Champion to Serie A
Tegan Bowie’s Hibernian story is over. The next chapter starts in Italy.
The 22-year-old winger has completed a permanent move to Serie A side Parma Calcio after the Italian club activated a release clause in her contract, securing one of Hibs’ standout performers from their title-winning 2024-25 campaign for an undisclosed fee.
From academy prospect to title winner
Bowie’s departure closes a circle that began in the Hibs academy. She came through the club’s youth system before moving to Celtic, only to return to Edinburgh in 2023 as a more polished, more dangerous wide player.
Back at Hibs, she didn’t just slot in. She drove standards.
Over two spells, Bowie made 101 appearances and scored nine goals for the club, but the numbers only tell part of the story. Last season she became a central figure in Hibs’ push to the title, contributing five goals and 10 assists. When Hibs needed incision from wide areas, she was often the one providing it, stretching defences, committing full-backs, and opening space for others.
Her influence grew rapidly. By the end of the campaign, she was no longer just a promising winger; she was a key pillar in a championship-winning side.
A clause, a call, and a reluctant goodbye
For Hibs head coach Joelle Murray, the move is a painful reminder of the fine print that can shape a club’s future.
"I'm disappointed to see Tegan leave under a clause that was in her contract from summer 2025," Murray told club media, underlining that this was not a sale driven by choice, but by contractual reality.
The regret, though, is wrapped in pride.
"She's grown and developed massively during her time at the club, both as a player and a person. I wish her nothing but success as she takes on this new challenge in a new country with a new team. Hopefully she can continue that incredible personal growth next season and beyond."
It is the kind of farewell that speaks to what Bowie has meant inside the dressing room as much as on the pitch.
A player ready for a new stage
For Bowie, this move is as much about personal evolution as professional ambition.
"I've gotten to experience some of my favourite memories with this team and being able to have the freedom to express myself on the pitch has helped me in my development," she said, paying tribute to a club that allowed her to grow into a decisive attacking threat.
That freedom at Hibs has shaped the player Parma are getting: a wide forward comfortable taking responsibility, confident in one‑v‑one situations, and already proven in a title race.
Now the test changes. New league. New language. New expectations. The safe familiarity of Edinburgh traded for the tactical intensity of Serie A and the demands of a club betting on her potential.
