Tottenham Sign Lyon Defender Alice Sombath for Record Fee
Tottenham have underlined their ambition in the women’s game by signing France defender Alice Sombath from Lyon for a club-record fee, a deal that signals a serious push towards the WSL’s top tier.
The exact figure remains under wraps, but it eclipses the sum Spurs paid for Signe Gaupset in January, believed to be north of £375,000. For a 22-year-old defender, it is a statement as much as a signing.
From Lyon royalty to north London project
