Cauley Woodrow's Permanent Signing at Wycombe Wanderers
Wycombe Wanderers have made Cauley Woodrow’s return permanent, completing the signing of the forward from League One rivals Luton Town for an undisclosed fee.
It’s a deal that always felt likely. Now it’s done.
Woodrow, 31, never truly nailed down a starting role at Luton, scoring six goals in 79 appearances, most of them from the bench. His impact in Buckinghamshire told a very different story.
Sent out on loan to Wycombe last season, he became the focal point of their attack, hitting 12 goals in 40 games and finishing as the club’s top scorer. He offered more than just numbers: a reliable outlet, a clever link between midfield and attack, and a calm presence in tight games.
Wycombe’s director of football strategy and data intelligence, Tom Stockwell, underlined exactly that blend of qualities when speaking to the club’s website, highlighting Woodrow’s technical ability to connect “back to the front” and praising him as “a top professional and character in the dressing room”.
For a club intent on building momentum rather than ripping things up and starting again, keeping last season’s leading marksman was a logical move. Woodrow knows the system, the squad know his runs, and the dressing room already trusts him.
Wycombe have chosen not to reveal the length of his new deal. What they have made clear, though, is that they see Woodrow as central to the next phase of their push up the League One table.
