Hansi Flick Leads Barcelona to Record Seven Straight Wins with 7-2 Rout of Racing Santander

Barcelona's Historic Seven-Game Winning Streak Under Hansi Flick

Hansi Flick has steered Barcelona to an unprecedented start this season, achieving seven straight victories across all competitions. Their latest triumph was a commanding 7-2 home win against Racing Santander, setting a new club record for the best-ever opening run.

Breaking New Ground in Catalonia

With this dominant victory, Barcelona surpassed the previous mark of six consecutive wins from the start of a campaign. That benchmark was matched only three times before—in the 1929/30, 1960/61, and 2018/19 seasons—but never extended further. The emphatic scoreline against Racing highlights the team’s strength and ambition under Flick's guidance.

“I liked the way we played and the three points. I’m happy, we’re happy. It’s not easy to play against Racing,” said Flick after the match.

Combining Attack and Defense

The squad’s balance is evident in their stats: they have scored 33 goals while conceding just seven in these first seven fixtures. The streak includes convincing wins over Elche, Athletic Club, Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, Feyenoord, Levante, and now Racing Santander. Flick stressed that sustaining intensity and teamwork will be key moving forward.

“It’s always good to start well, but what matters is how you finish. It gives us confidence, and I like the momentum and the intensity. Everyone presses, everyone is involved. How we work as a team is crucial,” Flick explained.

Adeyemi’s Growing Influence

Among the team’s notable performers is new signing Karim Adeyemi, who is gradually settling into Flick’s system. His speed and energy are clear assets, although Flick acknowledged the forward still has room to adapt fully to the team's style.

“He can improve and still needs to fully adapt to our way of playing, but he gives us a lot, as we saw today. I’m happy for him and I like what I see. He’s a fun player and a good guy who gives everything on the pitch. His pace is incredible,” said Flick.

Looking Ahead

Despite the celebrations, Flick is already focused on the challenges ahead. With a packed schedule, Barcelona must keep their standards high. Their next test comes this weekend away at Sevilla, where they will aim to extend their impressive winning streak at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
