This four-team competition will unfold from February 2 to 6, featuring Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad. The announcement came after RFEF president Rafael Louzan signed an agreement in Istanbul on a Thursday, marking a significant shift for the tournament.

Istanbul replaces Saudi Arabia as the location due to a scheduling conflict with the Asian Cup. The tournament’s new home promises three renowned stadiums, drawing attention from football fans across Spain and Turkey alike.

"Today we are presenting much more than an agreement to organise a competition. It is rather the relationship between two countries that live football with extraordinary passion. Football has that virtue and responsibility: it unites countries and brings cultures closer," said Louzan during a presentation at the Turkish Football Federation headquarters.

  • February 2: Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid at Fenerbahce’s Chobani Stadium (48,000 capacity)
  • February 3: Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid at Besiktas Tupras Stadium (42,590 capacity)
  • February 6: Final held at Galatasaray’s Ali Sami Yen Stadium (52,000 capacity)

The combined seating across these venues totals approximately 150,000 spectators, setting the stage for an electrifying event in Istanbul.

Financial Impact and Support for Spanish Football

This temporary relocation preserves the profitable format introduced by the RFEF in recent years. Last season’s tournament in Saudi Arabia generated €51 million, benefiting not only the participating clubs but also grassroots football in Spain. Organisers hope the Turkish fans will welcome the competition enthusiastically when it arrives in early 2027.
