The fight's venue was a point of contention for some time. Dana White wanted the bout to take place in the United States, but Eddie Hearn insisted on keeping it in the UK. Hearn even revealed that Joshua rejected an offer to move the fight to Madison Square Garden. In the end, British soil will host what is being called one of the biggest British boxing events ever.

This fight has been a dream for fans in the UK for years. Both fighters are in the later stages of their careers and have been preparing with recent tune-up bouts. Tyson Fury secured a stoppage victory over Mariusz Wach in July, following an earlier win against Arslanbek Makhmudov in April at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. After his win, Fury challenged Joshua directly.
Anthony Joshua returned to the ring this year after a tragic car accident last December that claimed the lives of two friends. In July, he defeated Kristian Prenga by knockout despite having been knocked down twice early in the fight.

Hearn said, "Dana White has tried to get involved in a fight that he has nothing to do with and to get Sela to break their contract, scrap a British fight, and bring it to America. He thinks he’s not causing a problem? We’ve signed our contract. Just honour the contract."
He added, "Dana White thinks you can throw a little bit of money at someone and they’ll dance to your tune. Well, guess what? Not on A.J.’s watch. That is why the fight will not be taking place in America, because Anthony Joshua is not a sellout."
Stadium History and Broadcast Plans
The Principality Stadium, which holds 74,000 spectators, has previously hosted major fights including Joshua’s 2018 win over Joseph Parker and Joe Calzaghe’s victory in 2007. The fight is expected to start late in the UK to accommodate viewers in the US, making it a global event.
