That reality has alerted Arsenal, who see the Brazil international as a potential transformational signing for a side already on the brink of a title breakthrough. They want more threat from the left, more chaos, more goals in big moments. Vinicius offers all of that, and then some.

The club hierarchy know they cannot afford a soft spot in the front line. They want a left winger who terrifies full-backs, shifts game plans, forces opponents to drop deeper and wider. Vinicius does exactly that on a weekly basis in Spain and in Europe.
Mourinho, Madrid and a delicate dynamic
Any move would have to navigate not just Real Madrid’s stance but the dynamics between Vinicius and new head coach Jose Mourinho.
Their relationship has already come under the microscope. An incident last season – when Mourinho’s then Benfica midfielder Gianluca Prestianni abused Vinicius Jr – brought the Brazilian and the coach into the same storm, even before they began working together in Madrid.
Those close to the situation insist the pair have since been in contact and were ready to start the new campaign with a clean slate. The plan, as it stood, was straightforward: Mourinho on the touchline, Vinicius on the left, a fresh chapter at the Bernabeu.
Arsenal’s interest nudges that script off course. It introduces a question that Madrid may have to answer quickly: do they double down on keeping their star winger, or accept that this contract window might be their last real chance to control his exit?
A Premier League twist?
The possibility now exists that Vinicius could begin the 2026/27 season not in La Liga, but in the Premier League, dressed in red and white rather than white and gold.
