The post, made at 9:06pm on July 31, claimed Arsenal “have personal terms agreed in principle with Vinicius Junior” and that his representatives at Roc Nation will head into negotiations with Madrid armed with a “monstrous offer” from the English champions.
No signatures yet. No club-to-club agreement. But the first, crucial brick is in place: the player’s side are on board with the project.
For Madrid, the clock ticks a little louder. If Vinicius does not sign a new deal and no transfer materialises before the end of this summer window, the risk is obvious. Run the contract down, and by the end of the 2026/27 season, one of their marquee assets could walk away for nothing.

What has changed is the landscape at Newcastle. Eddie Howe’s departure has reset the dynamics around several key players. Romano says Arsenal are “ready to continue negotiations” with the Magpies and remain “absolutely on it” for Bruno, with constant contact between the London club and the player’s camp.
Crucially, Bruno wants the move. His intention, Romano stresses, is not ambiguous. He wants Arsenal, and Arsenal want him.
Howe himself, before his exit, is understood to have sensed that Newcastle were likely to sell the Brazilian. That feeling now hangs over the next round of talks between the clubs.
