Leon Goretzka's Bayern Exit: Milan Move Gathers Pace
Leon Goretzka’s Bayern exit has been coming for months. Now the picture of where he’ll land is sharpening.
Milan move gathering pace
Transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio reports a “clear trend”: AC Milan are out in front in the race for the 31-year-old, who will leave Bayern Munich on a free at the end of the season.
The Rossoneri have stepped forward with intent. Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan have put a three-year contract on the table, worth €5 million per season, and are pushing hard to close a deal with the Germany international.
The offer fits Milan’s recent strategy: experienced, high-level free agents on manageable salaries, plugged straight into a side aiming to turn domestic consistency into a deeper European run.
They are not alone at the table, though. Juventus, Napoli and Inter have all made contact with the midfielder, while Fenerbahce and Atlético Madrid remain in the frame and continue to be linked. For now, Milan are seen as the frontrunners, but the market rarely stays still for long.
End of an era in Munich
For Bayern, Goretzka’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter.
Since late January it has been clear he would not sign a new contract and would walk away in the summer. He arrived from FC Schalke 04 in 2018 and grew into a central figure in a dominant era, making 305 competitive appearances and scoring 49 goals.
Titles, big nights in Europe, and a powerful midfield partnership at his peak – all of that now moves into the rear-view mirror as he prepares for a new challenge.
The only real question left is whether his next chapter will be written in Milan red and black, or whether one of the chasing clubs can still twist the story before the window opens.
