Liverpool Women Sign England Goalkeeper Khiara Keating

Liverpool FC Women have moved decisively in the summer market, sealing the signing of highly rated goalkeeper Khiara Keating on a permanent deal after the expiry of her contract at Manchester City.

At 22, Keating already carries the poise and mileage of a far older player. She made her senior debut at just 17, came through the City academy system, and has climbed all the way to the England setup, earning her first Lionesses cap in October 2025. This is not a prospect arriving on potential alone; this is a goalkeeper who has already lived the pressure of elite football.

Her move to Merseyside also brings a familiar face back into her working life. Keating reunites with head coach Gareth Taylor, under whom she previously developed at City. That existing trust and understanding between goalkeeper and coach gives Liverpool an immediate platform, cutting out the usual bedding-in period that can unsettle a defensive unit.

She becomes the club’s fourth new recruit of the summer, a statement addition in a key position. Liverpool have not simply added depth – they have brought in a goalkeeper shaped by one of the country’s leading academies and tested on both domestic and international stages.

For a side with ambitions of pushing higher and staying there, securing a young England international on a free at the start of her prime feels like the kind of move that can tilt a season.
