Injury Blow for Napoli as Spinazzola Misses Fiorentina Trip
Napoli’s growing injury list has claimed another key name. Leonardo Spinazzola will not travel to Florence.
The club confirmed on Friday that the full-back skipped group training after suffering a mild strain in the hamstring of his right thigh. Tests and workload management have led to a clear outcome: he will miss Sunday’s away clash with Fiorentina.
For Napoli, it’s another setback just as they were trying to steady the season.
Reports in Italy, including Il Mattino and Sky, are unanimous: the Italy international won’t be available for the lunchtime kick-off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, scheduled for 12:30 CET (11:30 BST).
His absence strips Napoli of experience and thrusts more responsibility onto the remaining options on the flanks.
The problems don’t stop there.
Frank Zambo Anguissa is still working on his own and has yet to rejoin the main group, Napoli also announced. With the midfielder continuing to train separately, his chances of featuring in Florence are slim at best.
