Richard Kone Faces Another Setback in QPR Development Match

Richard Kone’s stop-start season took another worrying twist on Monday as the QPR striker was forced off less than half an hour into a development squad match.

The 23-year-old, last season’s leading scorer at Loftus Road, has struggled to make an impact this term. He has featured just four times for the first team and is still waiting for his first goal of the campaign.

Kone had only just returned from the injury he sustained against Middlesbrough on 5 September, stepping back into action against Bolton’s Under-21s in a bid to build fitness and rhythm.

Instead, his comeback was cut short.

After a strong challenge, Kone was left in clear discomfort and limped out of the game before the half-hour mark, leaving QPR’s staff with fresh concerns. Bolton’s youngsters went on to win the match 3-1, but QPR’s bigger worry lay with their striker.
